I know people always have their own perspectives toward life. Mine is a straightforward one. Whatever control we have over life, that's our attitude toward life. If we appreciate little things other people do for us, we embrace life happily. If we hold grudges against people who may intentionally or unintentionally create inconveniences for us, the negative emotion will simply feed in itself--we will simply push ourselves into unhappiness.
I hope I'm not infringing on someone's copyrights over this philosophical expression. Here's what made my day.
My cell phone suddenly decided to joke around. Firstly it indicated the card did not work. Then it refused to OK the battery. Whatever I did, it said Invalid Battery. I took it out, put it back in, it simply did not tolerate the same battery. Now it's the technical expert time, assuming they know a better way to cheat the phone. The warranty service people actually knew as much as I do. So I was asked to check it out at a local wireless store. A clerk received me, very nicely. He repeated the cheating procedure. My phone simply repeated the message: come on, guys, it's the same battery. He searched the whole store but could not find a phone with same type of battery to check out what was wrong with my phone. Now it's time to replace the phone and the battery. He's putting in notes on my account. Even though my phone refused to OK the battery, it does not refuse the power supply. So, I'll just operate on "Invalid Battery". I turned the phone back on. Now everything looks normal!
I told the clerk the good news. He was continuing typing in notes to my account. He looked up and said, "you warranty is going to expire and I would still continue to request a replacement instead of depending on a phone that may or may not work." This man certainly made my day. He did not put his company's interest before mine. It may not be a bad thing for his company because he had just won his company a loyal customer. If anyone ask me about the company, I'll have something to say.
Everyday a nice day. So is today.
