Dear,
I am very cautious whenever generalizing anything. When people talk about western media, I really don't know how much they really consume western media.
In my own thinking, I never use "western media". I use American media instead. Well, even this kind of thing is rare because I know American media is also too general.
I never missed one single piece of the reports on China from The Washington Post and NBC Nightly News. Few media in America could be more influential than them.
To be honest, I never really found anything which could be labeled as biased or even anti-China.
Whenever you read a piece, you can forward me the link or the report itself so I can know better what you mean through saying "anti-China".
Based on what many Chinese people say on Internet, I can judge that most of American mainstream media are anti-America.
When it comes to reports on Tibetan issue, we have to put it into some context with more historical depth and with wider scope.
As a matter of fact, most of the American reporters are always trying to seek comments from our government side.
But unfortunately, at most of the situations no one dares to answer any question.
Sometimes people just use words on the People's Daily like "Dalai clique", "Evil under monk's outfits", "Separatists" and so on.
No people in American media think those words are real answers. Chinese government uses these words every day. It is pure propaganda without any reason inside.
So it boils down to how our government should deal with American media. We don't have any mechanism to respond to the changes in the world. It must be improved.
it is ridiculous to insult American media with burning nationalist sentiment. It is the best in the world. It is not perfect but can you find anything in China which is better?
Or you have something in your mind which can work better? It is none of China's business to charge them mindlessly.
It only shows the narrow-mindedness. The right way to go is to know how to deal with them.
You have to win the game through current rules if you do want to get the chance to change the rules. Think about things in a constructive way, dear.
The Olympic Games are coming very soon. Isn't it better to be more accommodating so American media can work in a better mood?
Chinese people are not mature enough to differentiate ideas
and
the people who have those ideas.
It is okay to attack ideas but it is not okay to attack people.
Almost all Beijing bureaus of major American media got different kinds of threats, sometimes even death threats.
When putting you in that kind of situation, are you still in good mood to do your job?
As well educated people in China, they are supposed to create a rational and calm atmosphere, not following the nationalist wave, let alone stoking those sentiments.

>Many times, western media and chinese society here can't understand each other. I agree that people from mainland can't judge western news by CCTV standard.
I like to watch news channels when I was in carbondale, and installed CNN, CNBC at my new home. From my eyes, I can identify what is critiques and what is warp.
Most news I have seen through western channels can be classified at critique level. But this time, things are different. There are so many false reports and edited photos.
The main streams broadcasted these reports and photos repeatedly even after fakes have been exposured. It can not be simply ascribed as mistakes.
Via discovery channels, I learned how CIA manipulated propaganda machine during cold war. What happened recently might be traced to CIA, though I hope it is not.
You have told me western news always tell audience the story of both side, but not this time. There's only one voice, one anti-China voice. I can only see bias, not truth.
That is why I said I felt deeply disappointed after collecting all the information from various sources.
