Recently I have to work hard together with a client to settle some outstanding cases against her and make a projection for any future litigation. She is a smart, pretty single business woman around my age. I drop by her office to sort things out. Her mom suddenly showed up and talked to me.

"each time I saw you and my daughter busy in and out, I feel so sorry for both of you(女人这样辛苦为了什么？). What is the meaning of your girls' life if you don't have family and eventually will die alone?" She said.

I don't know how to respond. So I say, "Come on, your daughter is the the CEO of a public trading company and her hand bag worthy more than $20,000. What else you expect for her in life? How many women can achieve this in life? if you want a baby, go to Hong Kong and try to do incubation baby there."

Maybe she is unhappy for my response. Then she asked me why her daughter broke with her ex-boyfriend. I guess her daughter was tired of the mom and didn't talk to her about personal life. So I tell her: "Your daughter says he isn't romantic at all and talk about money every day." This is true. Her daughter did dump her ex because he is too materialistic.

"what is romance? You see, like your attitudes, you and my daughter same type, keep dating for all you life until you are 60 years old. Who will romance with you when you are 60 years old?"
